SAWUBONA PROJECT BEGINS ON JUNE 21ST

How much does it cost?

It's FREE! The Sawubona project is entirely funded by the Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism grant from the Government of British Columbia. Participation is FREE and Registration is required.

How long is the event?

For 8 weeks, we will gather online once a week to learn about the History of Africa, and in person twice a month to to practice drum and dance activities.

What if I am not of African Descent?

The project is designed for both the people of African descent and all other cultures to come together and learn more about the History of Africa and our traditional practices of friendship... so Everyone is Welcome!

What if I can't join on June 20th but still want to join the project?

Though there will be great value in starting from day 1, you are welcome to join the Sawubona Project anytime as there will be many opportunities to learn, connect with community and join in the drum and dance practices.

Please note that whenever we face number restrictions for in-person gatherings to drum and dance, priority will be given to the early registrants.
